About me
I have always had an interest in people & psychology for as long as I can remember, and a strong desire to help others.
I previously worked in the sports industry and different business arenas which all included customer facing elements. As a result, I gained a lot of experience in observing people’s personalities & behaviours, as well as putting them at ease and learning to truly listen.
Over a decade ago, I decided to take introductory courses first in NLP (applied psychology) & later in therapeutic counselling. I was so fascinated and engaged that I decided to continue learning - eventually qualifying as a counsellor & psychotherapist.
I have worked in many counselling agency settings including carer support, domestic violence refuge and drugs & alcohol, building up experience with a wide variety of clients before eventually becoming a freelance counsellor.
Along the way a number of notable people appeared in my life and helped me learn, reflect & self-develop and I am very grateful for every avenue they opened up for me; by the way that list includes: therapists, teachers, coaches, mindful meditators and even a wonderful learning colleague!
Of course, I can't forget my clients! Their resilience, courage and desire to get better continue to teach me many of my greatest lessons.
I now have the privilege of using my knowledge, experience & skillset to help and empower others in leading happier and more productive lives.
